Email Address: cbself@hotmail.com Postal Address: P.O. Box 3743 Hickory, NC 28603 I was stationed at DaNang as a Co-Pilot with the 362nd Tactical Electronics Warfare Squadron from Jan. 1972 thru Nov. 1972l Hello Jim, Here is the info and in addition I need some info for the VA. I am trying to find out the names of the guys from the 362ns TEWS that were injured and the guy that was killed in a rocket attack in or about May 1972. That attack took the life of an AC-119 pilot in front of 362nd barracks and injured 2 of our Lt copilots and a Maj nav. Any Ideas? Comments: I entered country with orders for TSN, but when I arrived they said that I was needed in Danang. I drug my feet all the way to Danang. I had heard too many stories about that place. When I checked in with the Sq. Commander he said they needed ACs not SICs and I should hang out and someone would get me started on a local check out in a couple of weeks. I was assigned as assistant Hooch Bar Officer. This allowed me to hang out at the bar and plan parties. After all I did major in Recreation in Col. We had a pretty good bar and I stayed busy keeping it stocked and managing the one bar girl. I usually helped her wait bar and lift the heavy boxes and such. About half way through my year my boss went to NKP and I became the manager and got an assistant. We also had to find a new place to house the bar. I managed to acquire a trailer from across the base that the FAC squadron had left. Red Horse moved it for a couple of bottles of liquor and a case of beer. The Sq Commander was happy but didn't want to know any of the details. I got to fly some while there but not near enough. It wouldn't have been too bad except for the rockets. I really got tired of hearing Rockets, Rockets, Rockets...Danang is under attack. One night a AC-119 pilot received injuries that later took his life in front of our barracks. In addition 2 of our Lt copilots took shrapnel a Maj nav los an eye and a finger. Any body out there know the names of those guys? War is never a good thing. I pray that humanity will reach a level of enlightenment that will allow us to settle our difference peacefully.

I just found your website with lots of names I remember from the 362nd TEWS when I was at Pleiku AFB from 10 July 1968 to 11 July 1969. I was enlisted airplane mechanic crew chief of EC47 Gypsy Rose changed to Candie Girl. Could you add me to your list. I also have a few pictures I took while there if anyone is interested. Thank you Ken Melvin
